Wood Stain Finish – If you need to finish the furniture or trim made of pine wood, and you try to stain the dark wood. You may experience problems getting the rich dark tones that you want. And even if you get the color of the dark stain you want, why does your result look so “stained?” To stain dark pine, every time, follow these steps.
Start with Sanding
First of all, with any coloring task, give good sanding wood. You will want to do this by hand. Pinewood is soft wood, and if you use an electric pad. You will often end up with a few scratches that appear after you apply stains to the wood. There is no easy way out of this, manual sanding work is need. To ensure a dark finish, use a medium sand sanding sponge or equivalent sandpaper, which is around 100-grit. The sanding sponge is the best for cutting molds that have fine curves and wrinkles. This is the best choice to adjust to the curve and get into gaps and gaps. If you have a very flat surface, wrap a small piece of sandpaper around. The sanding block (a simple wooden block will be done) and sand with granules, but with a slight angle.
Why it is slightly tilte? Pinewood is characterize by light, softer “early wood”, and darker and harder “latewood”. By not cutting a little wheat, you will sand more wood than latewood and end with a relatively bumpy surface, not a flat surface at all you want to achieve. If you want a darker finish, don’t sand with sand finer than medium or 100-grit. This sanding with slightly coarse sand helps open the pores of pine wood, which will receive more stains. What you don’t want to do is use a fine sanding sponge or 180-grit (or higher) sandpaper. This effectively polishes the wood and closes the wood pores, making it more difficult to color the dark pine.
Eliminate the finished spots. After thorough sand work, stretch the project and then use a cloth tag to wipe away all the remaining dust particles. Finished pine can look shiny because of the different growth cycles of wood (and also depends on how the last cut is cut). To get rid of this unpleasant problem, take a can of pre-stained wood conditioner at the center of your local home or paint shop. The wood conditioner ensures the stain color is more uniform by covering several larger pores and reducing the absorption of stains in the area.
